Emergency Service

The Practice operates an emergency service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This service is
provided by the surgery’s own veterinary surgeons from our modern facilities. We do not send our clients to out of area emergency providers.
For our small animal clients this brings owners to a surgery they and their pet are familiar with. Thus reducing stress and cutting down on unnecessary travelling in an emergency. This service is
supported by the latest technologies and the patient’s full medical records.

Equine patients can be seen at their place of stabling or at
the
surgery. The duty veterinary surgeon will be equipped
with
a
four
wheel drive Land Rover with all the medical and
surgical
equipment
to deal with common emergencies. This
also allows
access to horses which have collapsed or become
injured far
from their stable on a
ride or out in a field. Mobile radiography
and ultrasonography allows rapid assessment of
injuries. This ensures
the most appropriate first aid and
immediate care is
given. When required animals can then be transported more
safely. The service
is backed up by our links
to
local equine
hospitals for those patients that require more specialist care.

Farm animals can be seen on the farm or at the surgery if appropriate. The farm team come
equipped for all the common emergencies encountered in general practice.
Payment will be required at the time of consultation. An out of hours fee will be incurred. An
estimate can be provided on request.
